The problem

Every nation has a city that could be its champion on the world stage. Vancouver has the geography, port, talent and global brand, and the housing costs, transit gaps and permitting timelines to squander it. This study treats the region as one system, joining housing, transportation, employment, port and climate-risk data, and tests which combinations of density, transit and industrial land policy produce a city people and companies can afford to stay in. The method is built to transfer to any city asking the same question.
